I love nothing more than reading blogs that give out useful advice, and even more so if the author injects humor into their posts. Trizle is by no means an exception in the above statement, and I find myself amused by some of the daily posts, as well as a feeling of empowerment having gained some useful [...]

A Question of Installation
Posted in Applications, Everything, tagged Microsoft Internet Explorer on October 30, 2006 | 3 Comments »
Just a quick question to pose to the masses: why is it that Firefox 2.0 takes no more than 2 minutes to install, yet Internet Explorer 7.0 takes about 15 minutes? Makes me wonder what core DLLs IE is replacing in my system.

Pass by Reference

Contrary to the beliefs of some developers, .Net reference types do not need to be passed as reference parameters (ref in C#, ByRef in VB) when a method is going to alter the contents of an object instance. Passing a object reference by reference parameter just means the method can reassign the reference to a [...]

Q: So what is special about this blog post? A: It was authored on my WM5 Pocket PC using a cool lightweight blogging tool called Diarist. It’s not like I’ll do much blogging using this method (need I say writer’s cramp?), but it’s good to know that I can report should I find myself isolated [...]

I’ve been playing with Google Analytics this last couple of weeks to see how I can improve readership of my blog. I noticed this morning that over the last week 13 people from Microsoft have been reading my blog: Thanks for the support guys, I’ve been using Windows Vista RC2 and Beta 2-TR of [...]

Slipstream Installation of SharePoint 2007 Beta-2TR
Posted in Applications, Everything, tagged Microsoft Office, Microsoft SharePoint, SharePoint Designer on October 3, 2006 | 1 Comment »
Steve Smith has written an excellent document on how to create a "Slip Stream" installation of SharePoint 2007 Beta-2TR. The B2TR of Office, SharePoint Server and SharePoint Designer installers require a working installation of Beta 2, and exist as patches. If like me, you like to repave your machine before installing the newest version, and [...]
